Simple Easter Styling
Easter is such a lovely time of year, signalling the start of spring and bringing with it the promise of brighter days to come. It’s also the perfect opportunity to gather loved ones and celebrate over a beautiful meal (and to eat chocolate for breakfast, if you wish!). When it comes to table arrangements, there are so many gorgeous flowers in bloom, we’re spoilt for choice!
Read on for some of my favourite ideas, tips and tricks for Easter dining.
Choose your colour palette
Get in the spring spirit with a perfectly pastel colour theme - look no further than a bag of mini eggs for your shade cues! You can incorporate pinks, blues, yellows, and greens into your table setting with tablecloths, napkins, plates, and flowers. If you prefer bright pops of colour, choose a neutral or natural tablecloth with some bright accent accessories and flowers for a fun twist on the theme.
Use seasonal flowers
No table is complete without a fresh, floral centrepiece - they add colour, personality and beauty and are a real focal point of your celebration. Ranunculus, fritillary, daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths are all gorgeous spring blooms, guaranteed to wow. Try creating individual table settings with a few select stems - mini vases, jars, or even vintage bottles are fab for dotting flowers around. Don’t forget a bright bunch of daffodils in the hallway or entrance to cheerily welcome your guests.
Choose sustainably
You don’t need to rush out and buy new, just use your favourite tableware, ceramics and glasses, and add a personal touch with some handmade place cards or name tags. Decorate the room with some pretty handmade garlands and paper chains. I always have a ball of natural twine handy - the uses are infinite! Tie in foliage around fabric napkins (you can wash and reuse), add interest to posy vases, or use to string up some fabric triangles to make bunting.
Remember, the most important thing about styling an Easter lunch is to have fun. Wishing you a very happy Easter.
